Notes from the Week – “Just Post SOMETHING” Edition
I had made it a stated, sworn, cross-my-heart promise to write and post more, worry less, etc, but . . . here we are.
Local Blog Hits Near-Record View Count!
It's not untrue, as this blog did ALMOST hit a record number of views yesterday! However, that number was 76, which is admittedly low compared to other sites and blogs.
Here’s to (the next few moments of) 2020!
I know this falls well short of being a profound statement, but this is a strange time of the year.
Babies Post the Darndest Things
Of course, I did not have social media when I was born (in the 70's, a number which is ancient to some, and is causing others to collectively roll their eyes), and therefore could not document the occasion, but I can imagine the type of thing I might’ve posted.
Thoughts on Self-Publishing?
I apologize if the title is misleading, or if the question mark was not prominent enough. I know next to nothing about self-publishing so have no meaningful thoughts to offer. I did however want to reach out to this wonderful and knowledgeable community to see if any of you have thoughts and/or experience with self-publishing. … Continue reading Thoughts on Self-Publishing?

95 before 41
I realize that many blogging purists probably don't use Facebook. However, I more or less appreciate it for what it is, and as I'm trying to build a readership while at the same time developing a voice, etc, I need to use whatever media I can. So, I'm in the middle of a push to … Continue reading 95 before 41
Author’s Aside //3 – Horses
It's Kentucky Derby time, and here in my hometown of Lousiville, KY, the excitement is palpable! Which, for me, means I am getting ready to put on some old running shoes so I can spend the day pulling weeds in my yard only to use them to cover up bald dirt spots, with the full knowledge … Continue reading Author’s Aside //3 – Horses
Author’s Aside //2 – Sizes
Note: After inventing the concept of "Aside" last week (again, I have very few superhuman abilities, but (taking credit for) the invention of literary concepts is one of them), and applying it to my blogging efforts, I offer another today. It's short. In fact, this intro is longer. But, as before, I do this to keep … Continue reading Author’s Aside //2 – Sizes
Author’s Aside //1 – “Traveling”
This is the part of the (blogging) program where I start to wonder if using this format to practice and purvey "fiction" was a wise choice because fiction is so darn difficult. Who knew?! So, while I work up (read: "draft and then cry in despair over while eating a large Peanut Butter Cookie Dough … Continue reading Author’s Aside //1 – “Traveling”
