Someday, I will hold my grandchildren close and tell them where I was when I knew that we, as a society, had crossed the penultimate line, will recall with great sadness the event that signaled the decline of civilization as we all know it. ”It was a day,” I’ll say, a tear struggling to break free from the corner of my far-focused eye, ”when I knew nothing was sacred.”
